Rich Whiteley is a singer-songwriter-guitarist & bandleader originally from Wilmington Delaware. He has been a part of the live improvisational music scene in Tampa since moving down from Gainesville FL in 1993. He has released 5 full length original CDs during that time produced with studio wizard Steve Connelly. He has also served as a frontman for one of Tampa's longest running housebands- the Grateful Dead tribute Uncle John's Band, currently in it's 35th year of bringing the Dead to life in Tampa Bay.
Other projects past & present include the Rich Whiteley Band, Earth Bombs Mars, Rich Whiteley & the Primitive Campers, Nickel & the Polar Bears, Baye Kouyate et les Tougarakes, The Smokehouse Rats, as well as acoustic performances as a solo, duo, or trio. Rich has opened for numerous national acts & played at festivals from Chicago to Live Oak, FL. The Rich Whiteley Band won a Best of the Bay award in 2002 under the jam-band category. Whether playing with as an acoustic trio or full band, expect solid songwriting, deep repertoire, soulful vocal delivery, infectious grooves, and intrepid improvisational excursions. 5
